Patricia C Frye
Patricia C. Frye MD, is medical director of Takoma Park Integrative Care which serves patients in Washington DC, Maryland, and VIrginia. Professionally certified in Cannabis Science and Medicine by the University of Vermont School of Medicine, she has evaluated and managed over six thousand patients in her practice which focuses on the role of cannabis in the management of chronic disease and pain management. She is adjunct associate professor at the University of Maryland in the School of Pharmacy where her award-winning book “The Medical Marijuana Guide: Cannabis and Your Health” serves as a reference resource for the Department of Pharmacy Practice’s Master of Science program in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics.
After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she earned her medical degree, Dr Frye remained there and completed her pediatric residency. She then went to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she continued her studies in the field of anesthesiology. There she gained experience in medical pain management and pain management procedures. Dr Frye has furthered her education, by means of extensive independent study, and is knowledgeable in the areas of endogenous and exogenous cannabinoid physiology, the entourage effects of phytocannabinoids and terpenoids and their role in treating chronic and debilitating conditions.
